At the time of our inspection Southport Home Care Ltd provided support to two people. This was because the agency was established in November 2012. Support had been provided to one person since March 2013 and the other since May 2013. We visited one person who received care and support in their own home to gather their views and experiences of the service provided. The person we spoke with told us they were happy with the way staff supported them and the tasks they carried out for them. They told us they received the same care workers which provided consistent support. They said they had chosen the times the staff visited them and said what they needed help with.
We looked at care records in a person's home and in the office. We found only a daily log was currently completed by staff at the person's home. Care plans had not been completed. Handwritten notes had been taken at the time of the initial assessment but these were yet to be developed into a care plan.
People who received a service told us the staff knew what support they required and did everything that was needed for them. They said staff arrived at the agreed time and stayed for the full time they had paid for.
We spoke with the Registered Manager, who told us they had received the training required for their job.
