During a routine inspection
Two of the patients commented that the building had not been decorated recently. One said: "The surgery could do with a facelift." Another patient said: "It has not changed much in the last 10 years. It could do with updating."
We found that the practice was compliant with the essential standards we looked at.
We found that consent was obtained in an appropriate way. We found that staff were aware of the need to protect children and vulnerable adults from abuse, and that the training in this area was up to date.
We found that the building was satisfactory for its purpose although it could be updated. We found that recruitment of new staff members had been carried out in an acceptable way, but that there were additional checks which might be carried out in the future.
We found that there were adequate systems for monitoring the quality of the service, but that further action could be taken to encourage patient feedback and patient participation.
