Our view of the service
We carried out this on-site unannounced assessment on 9 October 2024. We found the practice had met regulations. Patients’ care and treatment was provided in line with current guidance, and infection control procedures were in place. The practice had systems to manage risks. Recruitment procedures reflected current legislation and there was effective leadership and a culture of continuous improvement. Patients were treated with dignity and respect and at the time of our assessment, could access care, support and treatment when required. Governance procedures were in place and embedded. We found some areas where this could be strengthened and shared this feedback with the provider on the assessment day. Beauchamp House Dental Practice is part of Gensmile Dental Care Limited a dental group provider. The practice is in Romsey, Hampshire and provides NHS and private dental care and treatment for adults and children. There was step free access to the practice and car parking spaces with easy access for disabled patients. The practice has 5 treatment rooms. During the assessment we spoke with 2 dentists, 2 dental nurses, a receptionist, the area compliance manager and the practice manager.
People's experience of this service
Two weeks before our onsite assessment, we asked the practice to encourage patients to share their views of the service with us. On the day of our assessment, we saw patient feedback from a number of sources, including feedback gathered by the practice following patients attending for treatment, and on-line feedback. Patient feedback provided a positive view of the dental team and care provided by the practice. Text messages sent to patients following their appointments, asked how they would rate the service provided. We saw that patients consistently rated the practice and its services highly, and that this was consistently the view, demonstrated by month-on-month comparisons. The practice also checked and responded to all patient posts in on-line reviews. Again, feedback was overwhelmingly positive. The practice shared patient feedback with the team. We were told this was reviewed and where suggestions had been made, appropriate action would be taken.
