During a routine inspection
People's needs were assessed on an individual basis and their treatment was planned and delivered through discussion with them. One person who used the service told us, "What you get here is lateral thinking from a doctor who looks at the bigger picture. [Doctor] is very thorough and takes a holistic approach and we will both explore various alternatives together."
We found that medicines in the surgery were stored appropriately and administered safely. When people were provided with medicines they also received sufficient information about them.
Staff received appropriate professional development and training in relation to their role. One staff member we spoke with told us, 'We have regular staff meetings and I am always talking with the doctor and manager. They are very approachable and always there if I need advice.'
People who use the service, their representatives and staff were asked for their views about their care and treatment and they were acted on. One comment we noted from a recent survey stated, 'I have total confidence in this doctor.'
