We spoke with eight people who used the service. In general people were very satisfied with the care and treatment they had received and in most cases were very complimentary about the attention and attitude of staff towards them.We saw that people were protected from abuse by the service's policies, procedures, staff training and staff awareness.
We looked at the provider's system for responding to complaints and found that there was an effective system in place including providing people who used the service with information about that system.
The staff team had received a range of training to equip them to carry out their roles and staff told us they felt supported by their manager.
The service had appropriate quality assurance processes in place to monitor and improve the services they provide.
We looked at the care records of three people who used the service. We found shortfalls in recorded guidance for staff and records maintained in meeting the needs of people who used the service.
