During a routine inspection

People we spoke with told us that they understood the care and treatment choices available to them. Personal support plans were written by each person, and included their goals and dreams, and their views on aspects of their recovery from mental illness. One person said, 'I can do whatever I want to. I don't need any help from staff.' But they also told us that the support staff understood how to support them, and they were able to talk to them when they wanted to.

People who use the service, their representatives and staff were asked for their views about their care and treatment and they were acted on. The staff we spoke with told us that in the supported living unit there was an open and engaging environment where people could communicate their needs.

Staff said that they understood how to support each person, including strategies for managing any behaviour problems. They told us that they received the training and support that they needed to meet the needs of the people using the service.
