During a routine inspection
We found people's privacy, dignity and independence were respected. People told us they understood the care and treatment choices available to them. One relative told us the provider "explained everything to my relative" and another that he "went through everything with us." People told us they felt their needs were being met and their care and support was delivered in the way they preferred.
People were protected from the risk of abuse because the provider had taken reasonable steps to identify the possibility of abuse and prevent abuse from happening. People told us they felt safe with the provider and knew who to talk to if they had any concerns. One relative commented "We are really happy and we know our relative is safe. We know he (the provider) will turn up when he should and will do what he is supposed to."
However, we found the provider had not operated effective recruitment procedures. We also found people were not protected against the risk of unsafe or inappropriate care arising from a lack of proper information about them.
