During a routine inspection
Dr Ward told us that Stafford Skincare had been commissioned to provide dermatology services for NHS patients within a 'Community Clinic' held at Rowley Hall Hospital. Stafford Skincare provided dermatology consultations, treatments and minor surgical procedures. Serious health conditions were referred on to larger hospital departments.
We spoke with five people after their dermatology consultations. One person told us: 'It's an excellent service. I was treated with respect. I'm delighted with the care I've received'. Another person said: 'I was given a full explanation and written information. It's a very caring service'. A third person told us: 'It was explained in a way that I understood. I've had my treatment and I'm very pleased'.
We found that people were listened to in the consultation and that their consent to treatment was based on the clear information provided by Dr Ward.
We saw that Dr Ward had demonstrated her clinical competence to the GMC during 2013. She asked people for feedback about the treatments provided by Stafford Skincare and reviewed all aspects of the services provided. We found that Stafford Skincare provided safe and effective treatments.
