During a routine inspection

People told us they understood the care and treatment choices available to them and had been given appropriate information about the service. One relative told us, 'The information was great, all explained really clearly and at a level that (their parent) could understand."

Care staff spoke very positively about the support they provided and the satisfaction they felt seeing people regain some of their independence. They told us they had time to provide the support people needed. One said, 'I never felt I had to rush to provide care, it's all about what people need to get their independence.'

People told us that they were very pleased with the support they received. They said the staff were, 'Very professional' and 'Courteous.' One person said the staff were, 'Marvellous, you could not get better people'. A relative told us how they had noticed a marked improvement in their parent since the care staff had been supporting them. They said their parent was, "Doing really well, looks better and is a lot brighter.'

The care staff told us they were well supported and received appropriate training and development to enable them to carry out their role. One said, 'My supervisor is brilliant."

The provider had procedures to review the support people received and assess the quality of the service. At the conclusion of the reablement period assessments were made of the effectiveness of the support provided and, where required, the person's longer term support needs.
