During a routine inspection
Care plans we looked at showed that people's needs and preferences were thoroughly assessed, documented and reviewed. A relative told us, 'They make sure [name] is very well looked after.'
The provider had put suitable arrangements in place to safeguard people against the risk of abuse. Relevant information and guidance had also been included in people's care plans and made available to staff.
Records showed the provider had put effective recruitment procedures in place to ensure that staff were fit, able and properly trained to meet the needs of people who used the service. This included carrying out appropriate checks before staff began work.
The provider had an effective system in place for recording and dealing with complaints. Everyone we spoke with knew how to complain and to whom, but told us they had no reason to do so.
