We spoke with six people who used the dental practice and they all told us they were happy with the service provided. People said that dentists talked through their treatment options and any relevant costs with them and they had enough information to make decisions. People completed medical questionnaires which were updated at their check up appointments. They signed consent forms for their courses of treatment.People told us that they felt safe with dentists and trusted them. Dentists and staff had had safeguarding training and they had access to current safeguarding guidance and legislation.
Infection control practice was generally sound but was undermined because there was no running hot water available in the practice.
The environment of the dental practice was unsafe. It presented hazards to staff and risks to people using the service. There was a lack of adequate equipment available in the service.
People told us that they were confident in staff and thought they were well trained. We saw that staff were generally well trained for their roles and responsibilities.
There was not an effective system in place for the provider to monitor and measure the quality of the service and people's views and the views of staff were not taken into account in the running of the service.
