Our view of the service
Clare Hall Nursing home is registered to provide accommodation and nursing or personal care to up to 57 people, some of whom may be living with dementia or memory loss. The registered manager told us they would only accommodate up to 51 people. At the time of our visit there were 44 people living at the home. We carried out our onsite assessment on 14 August 2024, off site activity started on 2 August 2024 and ended on 4 September 2024. We looked at 21 quality statements. At our last inspection, the service was rated as requires improvement. At this assessment, the service has improved and is rated good. Peoples care plans reflected their needs and provided staff with the information they needed to manage the identified risks. Medicines using a new electronic system were managed safely, and people received their medicines as prescribed. We observed good interactions between people and staff. Staff knew people well and understood their needs. Staff had been safely recruited and had been trained and supported to carry out their role. The home was clean and regular safety checks were carried out. There were enough staff to meet people’s physical needs. However, some people told us, that although staff were available to provide care and support, they did not always have time to talk to them. People and their relatives and friends had opportunities to feedback their views about the service.
