Updated 6 June 2024
We had previously undertaken a comprehensive inspection under our previous methodology of Porchester Dental Practice on 8 February 2024 under Section 60 of the Health and Social Care Act 2008 as part of our regulatory functions. We found the registered provider was not providing well-led care and was in breach of regulation 17 of the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014. We undertook a follow up focused assessment on 19 June 2024. This assessment was carried out to review the actions taken by the registered provider to improve the quality of care and to confirm that the practice was now meeting legal requirements. We found the practice had met regulations. The practice had systems to manage risks. Recruitment procedures reflected current legislation. Infection control procedures followed published guidance. At the time of our assessment, we found that patients could access care, support and treatment when required. There was effective leadership and a culture of continuous improvement. Porchester Dental Practice is in Nottingham and provides NHS and private dental care and treatment for adults and children. There is step free access to the practice for people who use wheelchairs and those with pushchairs. Car parking spaces, including dedicated parking for disabled people, are available near the practice. The practice has made reasonable adjustments to support patients with access requirements. The dental team includes 3 dentists, 5 dental nurses, 1 trainee dental nurse, 1 dental hygienist and 2 practice managers. The practice has 3 treatment rooms. During the inspection we spoke with 1 dentist, 1 dental nurse and both practice managers. We looked at practice policies, procedures and other records to assess how the service is managed. The practice is open: Monday from 9am to 7pm. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 9am to 5pm. Friday from 9am to 2pm.
