All Inspections

3 October 2013

During a routine inspection

On the day of our inspection we spoke with the dental services manager and two dental nurses. We observed one treatment and had discussions with one person who used the service. We received four completed questionnaires and undertook telephone surveys with four people who used the service.

People told us that staff at the practice treated them with respect and they made them feel at ease. One person told us, 'They are very professional staff.' Another person told us, 'They always treat me with respect.'

People told us that they gave consent to their treatment. They stated that they were provided with a copy of their treatment and they could change their mind about their treatment if they wanted to. One person told us, 'The dentist explained my treatment to me and the option of other treatment.'

All the people we spoke with told us that they always felt safe when they were being treated. They told us that the staff were very nice.

We were told by people that the treatment room was always very clean and tidy and that the staff wore protective clothing when the were being treated. One person commented on the state of the waiting room and that it could do with being redecorated.

All the people we spoke with told us they had never had the need to make a complaint about the care and treatment they had received. They told us they knew how to make a complaint.
