During a routine inspection
The provider was not completing detailed pre-assessments prior to offering a care and support to people who used the service.
We could not be sure that people who used the service were receiving safe and consistent care.
We spoke with a healthcare professional they told us that a district nurse had observed care staff attending a person's home whilst not wearing personal protective equipment (PPE). The use of PPE ensures people are protected from the risk of cross infections.
We did not see evidence that l staff had undertaken training in how to safely administer medicines. The provider told us, 'Training on hoisting was completed recently but we need training on medications.'
We saw that staff had recorded their preferred references but the provider had not contacted previous employers as part of their recruitment process.
We found no evidence of a staff training programme or plan to ensure staff were effectively supported and were safe about the care they were providing.
We found no evidence of a governance system to show that the organisation had implemented effective controls and monitor the quality of the service.
