People and their relatives told us the staff were very kind and caring and treated them in a respectful manner. Staff were aware of the needs and preferences of people and had built up good relationships with them. People were involved, where able, in decisions about their care, which helped them to retain choice and control over how their care and support was delivered. People were treated with respect by staff and had their privacy, dignity and independence respected.

People told us that they felt staff were kind and caring. They received personalised care and their privacy and dignity were respected. Relatives commented positively about the service and the care and support provided by staff.

Staff encouraged people to make choices and decisions about how they wanted to spend their day, the meals they liked to eat and what they liked to wear. They treated them in a kind and caring way. Staff were aware of the needs and preferences of people and had built up good relationships with them.

We received positive feedback from professionals. A social worker told us, “When I did my visit, there was nothing to report, everything was fine the 2 days that I went there.”

Independence, choice and control

People and their relatives were positive around how staff maintain people’s independence and gave people choice around their support needs.

Staff told us they encouraged people to keep their independence as much possible. They knew how much each person was able to do for themselves and what assistance they needed. For example, people were encouraged to clean their rooms.

Throughout our visit, we saw staff as well as the management team interacted with people who used the service in a kind and courteous way.

People were involved, where able, in decisions about their care, which helped them to retain choice and control over how their care and support was delivered. Where people were not able to do so, their relatives or representatives were involved. Records showed that people were involved in making decisions on how their needs were to be met. People were offered choices about how they wanted their care delivered.
