Responsive
Care and support plans reflected people’s health and social care needs. Relevant assessments were completed and up-to-date, this included details of people’s cultural and religious preferences. Daily records reflected people were offered choice and were in control, and information was shared with people in an accessible format to enable equality in communication.

Equity in experiences and outcomes
Staff spoke to people with respect and knew people's non-verbal cues well. We observed people being offered choice. One person told us, “I wanted a vegetable garden, my key worker helped me dig it, now I’m in charge of watering the plants day and night.”
The registered manager told us how proud they are of the care staff at Beach House, providing examples from recent compliments and feedback which demonstrated people the home supports being in control of their care and staff supporting people to achieve their individual goals.
