During a routine inspection
Patients told us that the dentist had always asked about their medical history at every visit and explained their treatment to them before they signed a consent form. We looked at treatment plans and the information that had been given to patients about procedures, for example dental implants. Computerised treatment plans had been recorded that detailed each visit and also alerted clinicians to any health related concerns and when x-rays needed to be repeating.
We spoke to six patients and they were all satisfied with the advice and treatment they had received. Patients told us, “I can't fault them”, “excellent service”, “I am 100% satisfied” and “they are exceptional at explaining what needs to be done”.
There were effective systems in place to reduce the risk of infection and clinical staff knew about the decontamination procedures. The staff were trained and records were kept of their continuing professional development.
