We found that people's care was planned and delivered according their individual needs. People commented, 'Staff couldn't do enough' [for them] and, 'They're really wonderful'. People also said that staff explained their care and treatment, answered any questions they had and were friendly and helpful. One person said they had been 'treated brilliantly' and another said, 'It has been a refreshing experience as I don't normally like hospitals'. We also found that previous concerns about co-operating with other bodies had been addressed. Information about patients that were transferred from the Surgicentre to the NHS hospital was also appropriately transferred in patient notes.
People told us they felt safe and said of the staff, 'They're all wonderful and make a fuss of anyone that comes in.' People told us that they felt the staff were competent to care for them and staff reported to us that previous staff shortages had been dealt with. There were sufficient numbers of staff with the appropriate mix of skills to meet people's needs.
The provider has not notified the Care Quality Commission of incidents as required that affect the welfare, health and safety of people using the service without delay so that action can be taken where needed. This is an offence.
