During a routine inspection
We found training and induction for staff was in place but could be developed further to ensure that staff had the adequate skills and experience to meet people's needs.
We found individual people's records were person centred and showed that people's needs were fully assessed before a service was provided to them. Their needs were kept under review to ensure the service was appropriate. We found most people using the service had regular carers and were satisfied with the service. We telephoned seventeen people using the service or their relatives and received excellent feedback. One person said, 'My family member is gently encouraged, they have a good rapport with staff who know how to treat them and have a good understanding of their needs.' Another person said I would recommend them to anyone can't fault them.'
We accompanied a carer on their visits for the day and found people visited were treated courteously and with respect. The carer was very competent and organised. Records seen were generally found to be accurate. However we found two people did not have regular carers and their care plans did not always accurately reflect theirs needs which could increase the risk of not receiving care that was required.
