We visited the service because we had received some concerns about the way the care was managed, from an anonymous source. However, we did not identify any concerns at our inspection and no-one raised any concerns with us. People who used the service said they felt confident to take any concerns to the managers and they made several positive comments about the staff. On 31 May 2012 we visited the office and carried out an inspection. On 1 June we visited two people who used the service in their homes. We also telephoned three people who used the service and two people's close relatives, to seek their views. The people who used the service said that they were happy with the care and support they received . They said that staff respected their privacy and dignity and encouraged them to be as independent as possible. Comments included:
"They do what I ask them to. They do listen to me"
"Extremely polite and respectful."
The feedback from people's relatives was also very positive. Including the comments:
"They have been very good with us. They give us a good service" "Excellent" and "Very accommodating and sensitive in their approach."
One relative said they were particularly pleased with the care taken when new care workers were introduced. Two relatives were impressed with how good the care workers were about communicating and keeping them informed.
During the inspection we looked at what people had said in a recent survey. The registered manager had sent the surveys, to consult people about the quality of the service they received. Comments also indicated that overall, people were happy with the service.
