During a routine inspection
With their permission we observed two people when they received treatment from the dentist. This enabled us to hear and what information people were given about their dental health or any proposed treatment. We were also able to see how some infection control procedures were carried out.
The people we spoke with expressed positive views about the dental service. They said their medical histories were taken and regularly updated and dentist explained everything to them when carrying out check ups or providing treatment. One person told us they had travelled a long way for their appointments because they had so much confidence in the dentist.
People told us all the staff who worked at the practice were polite. They said that they thought the premises were clean and hygienic.
We saw that the provider had arrangements in place for supporting the staff team as well as enabling them to maintain their skills and knowledge.
There were systems in place for managing medical emergencies, preventing and controlling infection and monitoring the quality of the service the practice provided.
