During a routine inspection
However, feedback from the provider's user survey in 2013 showed that most of its clients (who accessed the service on behalf of patients) were satisfied with the service provided.
Care was planned in a way to ensure patients' safety. There were systems in place for the correct identification of samples. There were procedures in place to deal with emergencies. The premises were suitable for the requirements of the service and adequately maintained.
There were appropriate recruitment and selection processes in place. Appropriate checks were undertaken before staff began work. Staff and patient medical records were accurate and fit for purpose. Records were kept and destroyed securely.
There was a complaints policy in place and we saw evidence that this was being followed.
