During a routine inspection
People that we spoke with described the service as "really good" and "very happy with service" and said that they had completed medical questionnaires.
Written information was provided to people on how to look after themselves following surgery which included details on taking medications, eating and drinking, activities and exercise.
Records looked at showed people had consented to all treatments. People spoken with confirmed this.
The hospital had relevant infection control checks in place. We looked at records for each consultation room and the four theatres. We saw that all areas of the hospital were clean and well maintained at the time of the inspection. A nurse had been designated the role of infection prevention and control lead. Staff had received training in infection control.
All staff working at the hospital had attended training relevant to their role. We looked at training records and confirmed this with staff.
The hospital had an effective quality assurance procedure ensuring that the quality of service provided was monitored and relevant improvements were implemented.
There was a complaints procedure that was on display in the reception area and people were aware of.
