During a routine inspection
We found that the agency had information for the people who would use the service available upon request. The family told us, "We were given a lot of information before we started using the service". The service had built a supportive relationship with a specially trained member of staff to provide assistance to the family. The member of staff who provided the care was supervised by a senior member of staff and we were able to speak with them.
The member of staff we spoke with was very knowledgeable about safeguarding matters, and told us how the agency shared this knowledge with all staff. We were told that the family and person who used the service were treated with dignity and respect. The member of staff supporting the family usually gave advance notice of periods of absence for holiday and the family were able to choose if they wanted to receive support from another member of staff during that time.
We saw that the care plan was personalised, and supported the person and their needs. We found that the agency had suitable systems in place to monitor and assure the quality of care provided. We saw that the service encouraged the family to participate in feedback to the service.
