During a routine inspection
Care was planned and delivered in a way that protected people from unlawful discrimination. Care workers we spoke with had a good understanding of equality and diversity. One person who used the service said, 'I have had several care agencies during my time. Staff here are good. They respect me as a person. They do what I ask them to. They are friendly. I can't ask for more. I have no problems.'
There were effective systems in place to reduce the risk and spread of infection. One person said, 'They wear gloves and wash their hands each time.'
A relative and a person who used the service said they were confident care workers knew how to use different equipment in a safe manner.
The manager and the provider had procedures to follow if they found staff who were no longer fit to work in health or social care.
One of the people who used the service said, 'Care workers can call one of the senior workers anytime. This is comforting. I feel happy they are not on their own.'
People had their comments and complaints listened to and acted on, without the fear that they would be discriminated against.
