During a check to make sure that the improvements required had been made

We carried out an inspection in June 2013 and published a report setting out our judgements. We asked the provider to send us a report of the changes they would make to comply with the standards they were not meeting.

We have followed up to make sure that the necessary changes have been made and found the provider is now meeting the standard included within this report. This report should be read in conjunction with the full inspection report.

We have not revisited Molyneux Park Dental Practice as part of this review because Molyneux Park Dental Practice were able to demonstrate that they were meeting the standards without the need for a visit.

During a routine inspection

Patients we spoke with told us they were happy with the service they received from the practice. Comments from patients included 'It's bang on', the staff are 'all very pleasant down there', and 'The dentist is very pleasant'.

Information was on display to patients about what the practice provided, the name of the dentist and how to make a complaint. We saw that patients were involved in making decisions about their treatment.

Staff knew what action to take in the event of needing to report any safeguarding concerns.

We saw that there were systems in place to maintain the hygiene of the surgery and dental instruments used. However, we found patients were not always protected from the risk of infection because appropriate guidance had not always been followed in relation to one sink and maintaining the integrity of the covering to the dental chair.

There were systems in place to monitor service delivery and the health and safety of the environment.
