During a routine inspection
We spoke with two members of staff and a Registered Manager about their understanding of safeguarding issues in relation to vulnerable adults and children. They all demonstrated a clear understanding of signs and behaviours associated with potential abuse that they should look out for as well as their responsibilities in relation to acting upon any suspicions or concerns.
Patients and their representatives were regularly asked for their views about their care and treatment. We looked at the last patient survey. Most people had said they were very satisfied with the service provided. Comments included 'Very clean, helpful and skilful' and 'Always being up-dated on treatment and care was great'.
Staff we spoke with were able to describe good infection control and hygiene practices before, during and after a consultation. One patient we spoke with told us "The practice is always spotless. I am very happy that the hygiene is 100%".
Patients we spoke to told us that if they had any questions the dentist responded clearly ' explaining what they saw, what might happen, including any associated risks, and gave the patient a number of different treatment options. 'One patient told us "They talk you through everything, explaining any risks of treatment, pros and cons'.
