Updated 2 May 2024
We carried out this unannounced on-site assessment on 24 May 2024 and 26 May 2024. We found the practice had not met all regulations. The practice did not have systems to manage risks, recruitment procedures did not reflect current legislation, infection control procedures did not follow published guidance. Patients’ care and treatment was not provided in line with current guidance. There was ineffective leadership and a lack of culture of continuous improvement. During this assessment we have not included the key questions of Caring and Responsive. The practice is in Finchley, in the London Borough of Barnet and provides private dental care and treatment for adults and children. At the time of our assessment, the Registered Manager told us that the dental team included 1 dentist, 1 registered dental nurse, 1 trainee dental nurse and 1 receptionist. We were also told that the Director of the company provided some practice management duties. The practice had 4 treatment rooms but we were told that only one was in use to provide dental services. During the assessment we spoke with the Registered Manager, the dentist, the Director of the company and the registered dental nurse. The provider was not complying with regulations. Full details of the regulations the provider was not meeting are within the quality statement section of the report. The provider is not currently registered with CQC to provide regulated services.
