We spoke with three people who used the service (one by telephone). They told us that their dental care options, treatment plans and costs were discussed in full and agreed with them before their treatment commenced. People said that they were satisfied with the standard and quality of the dental support, care and treatment they had received. One person went on to tell us that Broadway Smart Dental Surgery was, "Very good." Another told us, 'I am so happy with them.'
All of the areas of the premises that we visited were visibly clean. However, we found that improvements were needed regarding the checking and quality assurance of the decontamination process, sterilising equipment and dental instruments.
People told us that they had confidence in the competency and skills of staff; this was because they felt staff had been recruited to a good standard. However improvements were needed to ensure that all checks were in place before members of staff were deemed suitable to work with vulnerable people.
During our inspection we could not evidence that any quality assurance systems and monitoring were in place to ensure that people received safe dental care and treatment as no audits had been undertaken during 2012.
Improvements were needed to give people who used the service opportunities to feedback any positive aspects of the service they received and improvements they wished to see implemented.
