During a routine inspection
We observed two people receive advice and treatment from their dentist. We noted treatment plans and costs were discussed and people's choices were respected. We found people were involved at all stages of their treatment and staff treated them in a professional manner. People we spoke with told us they were happy with the advice and treatment they received. One person told us, "They all look after me so well."
We saw the service had infection control procedures for the cleaning and sterilisation of equipment. Staff had received training on the control of infection and knew who the infection prevention and control lead was in the practice.
We found there were enough suitably qualified, skilled and experienced staff to meet people's needs. We observed and saw evidence that there were sufficient numbers of staff on duty with the right competencies, knowledge, qualifications and experience to safeguard the health, safety and welfare of the people who use the service.
Records for people and staff contained appropriate information and were detailed, accurate and stored securely.
