During a check to make sure that the improvements required had been made

We found that staff had received training in safeguarding children and adults from abuse and that the service had revised the safeguarding policy. Following revision the policy conformed to local authority procedures. A new whistleblowing policy had been created and read by all staff.

We received written assurance that all expired medicines contained within the first aid and medical emergency boxes had been replaced. We also saw that checklists had been produced to aid the monitoring of medicines kept within the service.

We saw from documents provided by the provider that a confidentiality policy and procedure had been written and circulated among staff. A medical emergency plan had been written and had also been circulated for staff to read.

Surgery cross infection procedures had been revised and checklists had been produced to ensure that cleaning and infection controls which had been completed had been correctly recorded.

During a routine inspection

People that we spoke with told us that they were very satisfied with the services provided. They told us that they found that the practice was always clean and tidy and the atmosphere was always welcoming and comfortable. They said they felt that they were well informed about their treatment, and were made aware of their progress.

We were told that all of the dentists and staff were professional, reliable and people felt safe and well cared for. People told us that booking appointments was always flexible and they received reminders of their appointments which was helpful.
