During a routine inspection

The practice provided dental services to private patients only and they provided specific agreed appointment dates to privately registered patients. At the time of our inspection, there were no patient appointments. However, we observed a number of patient 'thank you' cards in the reception area. One person commented; "Thank you for my new dentures, in fact thank you for my treatment so far it has made such a difference" and "Such a professional service and so friendly." Comments also included, "Thank you for your kind care and attention."

Records we looked at always included signed consent and where required, a risk assessment was included for patients before a range of treatment choices offered to them. When people who used the service were unable to decide the best treatment options at the time of the appointment, alternative options were discussed and recorded in the patients record. We saw that there was a complaints procedure and it was displayed in the waiting room.
