We carried out our on-site assessment on 30 0ctober 2024; off site assessment activity started on 28 October and ended on 07 November 2024. People’s Choice UK is a domiciliary care agency and provides personal care to people living in their own homes. Not everyone who used the service received personal care. CQC only inspects where people receive the regulated activity of personal care. This is help with tasks related to personal hygiene and eating. Where they do, we also consider any wider social care provided. At the time of this inspection 48 people were receiving support with personal care. The service is also registered to provide support to people with a learning disability or autistic spectrum disorder. At the time of this assessment there was 1 person with a learning disability or autistic spectrum disorder using the service. We expect health and social care providers to guarantee people with a learning disability and autistic people respect, equality, dignity, choices and independence and good access to local communities that most people take for granted. ‘Right support, right care, right culture’ is the guidance CQC follows to make assessments and judgements about services supporting people with a learning disability and autistic people and providers must have regard to it. We looked at 5 quality statements during this assessment. People experienced positive outcomes because staff fully understood their needs. People were respected and valued as individuals and were empowered to be fully involved in their care. Staff and managers understood their duty to safeguard people from potential harm and people's risk of experiencing avoidable harm were reduced by the provider's risk assessments and risk management plans. People were enabled to maintain their independence, had choices regarding the service they received and were asked for feedback regularly.
