During a routine inspection
The environment was clean and hygienic on the day of the inspection. There was a separate decontamination area with clearly divided areas for clean and dirty instruments. Staff told us people said they liked the way this area was laid out (behind glass next to the treatment area) because they could see that the practice was kept clean.
The practice was staffed by a dentist, a dental nurse and a hygienist. Staff were trained in basic life support, infection control and attended other courses as identified in their appraisals. The dentist kept up to date with their continuing professional development. Feedback surveys showed that people who use felt safe and well treated by competent professionals.
People were given information about how to complain if they needed to and there was information displayed at the practice.
