Kindness, compassion and dignity
On the day of on-site assessment, we collected feedback from 3 patients. All 3 patients told us that they would recommend the practice to their family and friends. Patient feedback provided a positive view of the dental team and care provided by the practice. Patient comments included, “nice and friendly staff and environment...” One patient said, “I have experienced amazing care at TLDS. From first consultation as a very nervous patient they have been kind and considerate throughout.” Patients said staff were professional, courteous, and considerate. The practice provided us with a patient survey. The results had been analysed and showed that 100% of patients would recommend the practice to others, were confident in the skills and abilities of dentists, and felt they treated with dignity and gentleness and care.
Staff were aware of their responsibility to respect people’s diversity and human rights. Staff were aware of the importance of privacy and confidentiality. Staff felt respected, valued and supported in their roles and described how their wellbeing was supported. For example, staff covered each other’s absence and a reduction in hours had been agreed for a staff member when needed.
We did not receive any information from partner organisations.
The practice had information governance arrangements and staff were aware of the importance of protecting patients’ personal information. Staff password protected patients’ electronic care records were held securely and complied with General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR). The practice utilised clinipads to electronically record patients’ medical histories and consent to treatment. We saw the general environment helped to protect patients’ privacy and dignity. Staff treated patients with kindness, respect and compassion.
