All Inspections

19 September 2013

During an inspection looking at part of the service

We visited Parkview Hygienist Clinic on 19 September 2013, where we spoke with the provider who is the only member of staff for the service.

We looked at three of areas following concerns from our previous inspection on 02 May 2013 to see whether any improvements had been made by the provider.

We found overall there had been improvements made since our last inspection.

We gathered feedback of people's experiences through telephoning three people following our visit.

People we spoke with said they were happy with the service they received. They told us that the hygienist discussed the options available to them for any treatment they might require. They told us the hygienist would use a range of methods to explain the options available.

We saw the provider had emergency medication available should a person experience a medical emergency whilst using the service.

People we spoke with told us they had not needed to raise any concerns but knew how to complain. They told us they would speak to the staff if they were unhappy with anything and were confident their concerns would be resolved. We saw there was information available in the reception areas which gave people information on how to make a complaint.

We were shown records that the practice had developed internal audit systems to help them monitor the quality of the service provided.

People's personal records including medical records were accurate and fit for purpose.
