During a routine inspection
We found appropriate records were being kept of people's treatment. People had signed to consent to treatment. Parents or guardians had signed on behalf of children. The practice was equipped to deal with emergencies and staff had received training in basic life support.
Effective infection control practices were in place. Staff had received training on infection control and thorough decontamination procedures were used.
The premises were clean, well maintained and appropriately equipped. We noted people with limited mobility would not be able to access the practice due to its location.
We found thorough recruitment checks had been carried out for new staff. This included enhanced Criminal Records Bureau checks and written references.
Records were accurate and kept up to date. We found confidential records were kept secure to prevent unauthorised access to sensitive information.
