During a routine inspection
We could see that patients had made comments such as "I have always found the staff to be warm, friendly and efficient. I used to hate going to the dentist before I joined the Riverhead Dental Practice, but now I actually look forward to it!"
We were shown that medical histories were updated regularly. People's needs were assessed and care and treatment was planned and delivered in line with their individual care plan.
There were effective systems in place to reduce the risk and spread of infection.
We saw that 70% of patients who had completed the online survey had rated the cleanliness of the practice as 'excellent'. We saw the Department of Health infection control audit had been completed on 1/12/12 and this showed that the practice had achieved high scores ranging between 90-100%.
We saw how there was an induction record for newer team members which confirms that they have received training. We saw some team members had personal development plans and the manager showed how these will be coordinated into a practice intranet accessible to each team member.
We saw that patients' personal records including medical records were accurate and fit for purpose and kept securely.
