During a routine inspection
We saw the orthodontist treating people with respect and explaining what they were doing throughout the consultation. They outlined options around the treatment and ensured the patient understood the choices available to them. They gave the patient information leaflets on the treatments advised and suggested the patient thought about their options before making a decision.
We found the practice to be clean and hygienic. One patient said, "the practice always looks tidy and the staff always seem to be cleaning." We observed a nurse carrying out cleaning and sterilising of instruments and found this was completed in line with Department of Health guidelines.
We found staff recruitment practices were effective and all staff were appropriately checked before they started to work in the practice. The provider carried out suitable checks to monitor the quality of the service they provided. We found 96% of the patient satisfaction surveys we saw were extremely positive. Patients did not identify any areas they wished to improve.
