During a routine inspection
We were told by one patient they found the service 'absolutely brilliant.' They went on to tell us they had found the service to be 'personalised' and they had built up a good relationship with the dentist. Another person described the practice as 'fantastic.'
We found the treatment areas to be clean and hygienic. We saw the practice had supplies of medication and equipment to be used in emergency situations.
We observed the staff were friendly and welcoming to patients and visitors. We noticed that information in the form of leaflets was available to patients but the only format was written English.
We examined the dentists' records in relation to good practice guidelines laid down by the Department of Health. We found that audits of the practice had been undertaken and improvements to the service had been made following the audits.
We observed how staff cleaned instruments, and saw how instruments were stored, to prevent cross contamination or spread of infection.
