During a routine inspection
The dental team consists of five dentists, four dental nurses, an oral hygienist, the practice manager and a receptionist. The dentists and the nurses are registered with the General Dental Council. Last appointments on weekdays are at six o clock pm. The practice is open on Saturday mornings.
We found that people are informed of their treatment options and consent for treatment is obtained. One person who uses the service said, 'They always let you know what can be done.'
Dental records provide good information about what treatment people have received and the frequency of follow up visits. People we spoke with are very complimentary about the service. One person said, 'They are nothing but efficient, pleasant and effective.'
The practice is in premises that are suitably and safely laid out for the provision of the service.
Staff recruitment practices are designed to ensure that suitable staff are employed to look after people. One person said, 'They are all smashing people.'
The practice has systems in place to assess and monitor the quality of the service it provides.
