During a routine inspection
People's needs were assessed and care and treatment was planned and delivered in line with their individual care plan. People completed medical history forms and highlighted existing conditions and allergies. People had Individual treatment plans. There were arrangements in place to deal with foreseeable medical emergencies. All staff had received recent basic life support training.
There were effective systems in place to reduce the risk and spread of infection. There was an infection control policy. The dental nurse gave a demonstration of the decontamination process which was in line with published guidance. On the day of our visit the practice was clean and well maintained.
There was a sufficient number of qualified and skilled staff to meet people's needs. All relevant staff held current registration with thier regulating body. There were appropriate systems in place to cover staff leave.
People who use the service, their representatives and staff were asked for their views about their care and treatment and they were acted on. Patient feedback surveys were conducted annually. Audits were completed every six months to assess the quality of the service.
