During a routine inspection

We spoke with three people using the service, three representative's and four staff on duty to find out their views about the service. People at the service told us they were given choices and felt their care needs were being met.

One person told us, 'they look after us well here but I wish there was more that we could do' and another told us 'staff always know what to do to help me.' We spoke with two people in their bed rooms they both told us they thought the care was good and they were made comfortable.

Two visitors told us, 'We are quite happy with the care here'. Another relative told us, 'I think the care is very good.'

We observed people being moved in wheel chairs, using walking frames or being hoisted. We saw people were assisted to do so safely. People who use the service, staff and visitors were not always protected against the risks of unsafe or unsuitable premises as we cannot be sure that it was always adequately maintained.

Representative's of people at the home told us they thought the staff were good and made every attempt to meet people's needs. Two relative's who spoke with us told us they had no complaints about the care provided at the home. Three people living at the home also agreed with this comment.

During a routine inspection

People we spoke with told us they were 'as comfortable here as at home' and that staff 'give you your dignity' and another told us staff 'make a pal of me'. A relative said they 'couldn't praise the service highly enough' and that staff were 'lovely' with their relative.

One person told us the care was 'very good', another that they 'love living here' and another described the staff as 'brilliant' and the service as 'happy and cheerful'. Another person said 'there's nothing wrong with it'.

A relative told us the service was 'wonderful' and that they were very satisfied with the care and support offered to the person they were concerned with. They told us 'you can't fault the care'. Another described the care as 'very genuine' and said the service was 'homely' and that staff 'couldn't be kinder'.
