Our view of the service
We carried out this on-site, announced assessment on 18 July 2024. We found the practice had met regulations. The practice had systems to manage risks. Recruitment procedures reflected current legislation. Infection control procedures followed published guidance. Patients’ care and treatment was provided in line with current guidance. Patients were treated with dignity and respect. At the time of our assessment, patients could access care, support and treatment when required. There was effective leadership and a culture of continuous improvement. Clapham South Dental is part of Inspire Dental a dental group provider. The practice is in the London Borough of Wandsworth and provides NHS and private dental care and treatment for adults and children. At the time of our assessment, the dental team included 13 dentists (including 1 implantologist and 1 endodontist), 5 dental nurses, 9 trainee dental nurses (4 of whom cover reception duties), 5 dental hygienists, an assistant manager, a deputy manager and a practice manager. The practice had 6 treatment rooms. During the assessment we spoke with 3 dentists, 4 trainee dental nurse, and the practice manager. We also spoke with the organisations group manager.
People's experience of this service
Two weeks before our visit, we asked the practice to encourage patients to share their views of the service with us. Twelve comments were received and 100% of views expressed by patients were positive. Patients felt that they were respected, they were treated with care and kindness. They said that staff were friendly and helpful. The practice shared patient feedback with the team. We were told this was reviewed and where suggestions had been made, appropriate action would be taken. Staff gathered feedback from patients, the public and external partners and demonstrated a commitment to acting on feedback. We reviewed patient feedback gathered by the practice. Patients commented that the practice team were friendly and kind. Patients commented positively about the premises and the standards of cleanliness.
