We had previously undertaken a comprehensive inspection of Stotfold Dental Practice - Stotfold on 13 May 2024 under Section 60 of the Health and Social Care Act 2008 as part of our regulatory functions. We found the registered provider was not providing safe and well-led care and was in breach of regulations 17 and 19 of the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014. We undertook a follow up off site assessment on 26 June 2024. This assessment was carried out to review the actions taken by the registered provider to improve the quality of care and to confirm that the practice was now meeting legal requirements. We found the practice had met regulations. Recruitment procedures now reflected current legislation and there was now effective leadership and a culture of continuous improvement. Stotfold Dental Practice is in Stotfold and provides NHS and private dental care and treatment for adults and children. At the time of our assessment, the dental team included 3 dentists, 5 dental nurses, 1 trainee dental nurse, 3 dental hygienists, 1 practice manager and 1 deputy practice manager. The practice had 3 treatment rooms. During the assessment we spoke with the practice owner who is also a dentist, the practice manager and the deputy practice manager.
