During a routine inspection
'The service here revolves around the needs of the woman instead of the woman having to revolve around the needs of the service'.
We found that women were given plenty of information in respect of their care; they felt listened to and were able to make informed choices supported by the Midwives.
Women's care and treatment was assessed, planned and delivered in order to meet their needs. Care and treatment plans were fully documented.
The provider had systems in place to ensure co-operation with other providers particularly in the transfer of care process.
Staff were knowledgeable, trained and supported in the safeguarding of children and vulnerable adults. There was a system in place for raising concerns and working with local safeguarding authorities.
We found that staff were inducted, trained and supervised appropriately and told us they were well supported by management.
We found the provider had effective systems in place for monitoring the quality of services. Regular audits and satisfaction surveys were undertaken and there was an effective complaints process. Quality monitoring, learning from events and continuous improvement to service provision was seen to be important as part of the clinical governance framework implemented by the provider.
