Updated 30 April 2024
We had previously undertaken a comprehensive inspection under our previous methodology of Courthouse Dental on 4 March 2024 under Section 60 of the Health and Social Care Act 2008 as part of our regulatory functions. We found the registered provider was not providing safe or well-led care and was in breach of regulation12,17, 18 and 19 of the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014. We undertook a follow up focused assessment on 24 June 2024. This assessment was carried out to review the actions taken by the registered provider to improve the quality of care and to confirm that the practice was now meeting legal requirements. We found the practice had met regulations. The practice had systems to manage risks, particularly in respect of fire safety, management and maintenance of x-ray equipment and infection prevention and control. Recruitment procedures reflected current legislation. Infection control procedures followed published guidance. The practice is in Marlow and provides NHS and private dental care and treatment for adults and children. At the time of our assessment, the dental team included 3 dentists, a visiting orthodontist, implantologist and oral surgeon, 2 dental nurses, 1 student dental nurse, 1 dental hygienist, 2 receptionists and a practice manager from a sister practice who was supporting the practice in the absence of the manager. The practice had 3 treatment rooms. During the assessment we spoke with a nurse and the covering practice manager.
