During a routine inspection
During the inspection we spoke with the two dentists, a dental nurse and two receptionists. We reviewed three sets of dental records, a staff file and some written policies and procedures. During the inspection we spoke with five people using the service.
People that used the practice told us that they received care and treatment that was planned and had previously met their needs. We saw that the consultations were recorded in each person's file. People told us that the dentist discussed any changes in their health which may need to be taken into account when planning treatments. We heard that oral care advice was also given as part of the consultation.
People told us that the surgery was always clean and tidy and that they had never had any concerns about hygiene within the practice. Some people we spoke with had completed an annual questionnaire which was sent to them by Denplan.
One person told us: 'I have been coming here for many years and I have found everyone professional and kind. I feel safe here'.
The dentist told us that meetings were held to keep staff up to date and discuss any surgery issues. We saw that there were arrangements in place to monitor the quality of care and patient experience. This meant that people received a consistent high standard of treatment.
