During a routine inspection
Each new patient had a check of their medical history and a discussion with the dentist before treatment. At the initial consultation, the dentist explained the different treatment options, their risks and their benefits, and the cost.
On the day of the inspection the practice was clean and well maintained. There were effective systems in place to reduce the risk and spread of infection. Staff had been trained in infection control. The dental nurse undertook safe cleaning of the treatment room and sterilisation of re-useable equipment.
Staff had attended relevant training to support their professional development.
The practice had effective systems to review and monitor the quality and safety of the service provided, which included seeking feedback from people. using the service
